Leela Collier, Academy Director

My name is Leela Collier. I was born in Brooklyn, New York, but relocated to The Woodlands in 1976, where I currently reside with my husband, three sons and a daughter. I have a great love of people and have been fortunate to travel to many places, and enjoy the diversity and beauty of cultures all over the world. Working with children is a passion of mine, and I marvel each day at the wonder and excitement at which they approach life. For six years, I dedicated my time to volunteering at local schools working with children, as well as in The Woodlands Church preschool ministry. Eventually, this led to employment with Fellowship of the Woodlands Preschool as the lead teacher for infants, progressing to the lead teacher for the 3 year olds. Most recently, I have managed a salon for children, where I have had the privilege of creating summer camps and workshops designed to build self-esteem and encourage creativity. As director of Brighton Academy, I pledge to utilize all the skills, abilities and experiences I have been blessed with, to build upon the wonderful program already in existence. I also pledge to provide your child/children with a warm, loving environment for them to explore, expand and grow.

3 years of Management Experience
2 years as Lead Teacher for Preschool age children
6 years of volunteer work with children in local schools
CPR / First Aid Certified
